Shopify NY
To honor the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit of the city, Shopify opened up their first retail space in New York, supporting the city’s small business community through workshops, one-to-one support, and resources.
Working with the Shopify Spaces team to construct a physical, inspiring environment, we created a unique identity for Shopify New York that reflected the city’s energy and culture. To drive awareness for the new space, we developed a campaign inspired by the infamous NY Post op-ed claiming “New York City is dead forever.” Highlighting Shopify merchants from all five boroughs, we demonstrated that the city is not only not dead but doing a whole lot.
Shopify LA
Given the traction brought by the campaign and successes of the retail location, Shopify returned asking R/GA to design for a space in Los Angeles, based in the heart of The Row DTLA.
